They live there in the corner of our woods,

beyond the juniper bush, in the thicket of the laurels

under the tall pine.

She raises her young within the sound of our voices...our very quiet neighbor the White Tailed Deer.
On occasion we see them munching, on the carefully selected ornamentals in our Japanese style garden or munching on something delectable in our front gardens.

They are so used to us that they will pose instead of running away...

...Or is it in their nature, to stand still like statues?

She has three young...it seems that it has been a very good year with plentiful growth.
We often see them in our neighbors yards...where there are no doubt many delectable delights.

We forgive them that the munch on our plants and bushes, that we so carefully select to beautify our land and that Ken had Lime Disease.
They are after all just doing what is natural to them and they are probably just as bothered by the ticks as we are. How can you not forgive a face like this?

All the deer photos were taken by Ken a couple of days ago.
